Hey all..

I have 1.1.2 iphone, downgraded, jail-breaked, upgraded, jail-breaked.

Before you start slating me I know there is no what to sim-unlock the iphone for 'ANY' network but my question is slightly different.

Is there a way to allow my o2 sim card to run on the AT&T usa iphone ?? I have already got an ipod touch, just need to get my sim working.

Its been mentioned that if you have a 02 UK iPhone contract/sim, you can activate a US iPhone in iTunes. Search back a couple of days... the question was answered, but I'm sure that was proven!

I don't think it is possible... Unless someone can state otherwise.

Everytime I boot the phone it says incorrect sim. iWorld does not include any support for the UK.

Im going to keep looking into it tonight, but for now im stuffed.

Too bad...

Anybody has an idea why this happen? Can we assume that there is some difference in the phones sold, according to the countries?

What happens with the AT&T SIM? If you're consistently getting no service the downgrade and re-upgrade may have went wayward somewhere. Try patching the lockdownd file (unless you used the recent JB that does this for you).

I used iBrickr v0.91.

Could be worth a shot...

I suspect that the iPhone might have no problem with the sims from authorized carriers, but when you activate for a particular carrier then it is limited to that one (of course, this is only my speculation).

Let us know if you try to re-activate for o2.

The AT&T card in the US phones is one specifically for the iPhone service right? So wouldn't he need an O2 card specifically for the iPhone service? Forgive me if im wrong i do not know how the UK services are set up.

In the o2.plist file there is a valid sim section, maybe I am chasing a red herring.

I wonder if there is a way to work out how the numeric values in the plist are generated.
