    Default T-Mobile sim problem

I followed This Guide to unlock my 2G phone and it seems everything went just fine. I sent the phone to my buddy and he popped in his t-mobile sim card and it says "The Sim card inserted in this iPhone does not
appear to be supported." So what has to been done to activate it?

I can see some people fixed this by switching sim cards during steps three (not mentioned in the directions) but i doubt my buddy is competent enough to run the program. Is there any other way without him mailing the iphone and his sim to me?

    - go to settings, general and reset network settings to see if that work.

    - if the sim card your buddy is using is very very old then he may need to get a new sim
