T-mobile Service with iPhone
I currently have two t-mobile sim cards, both unactivated, and i want to put on in my iphone but when i got to activate it with t-mobile it asks for the imei # and i wanted to know can i use the iphone imei or is it ok to use the imei that came with the phone i bought from t-mobile and then just switch the card over to the iphone after activating the pre-paid phone from t-mobile?
thanks

activate by using pacay after jailbreak look for the application in the forums it lets you swap sims without activation

thanks it worked by activating with the imei from tmob, i figured that was the way, but i didnt know if that imei would then be "locked" and not be compatible with the iphone imei, all is good though,
I used the carlos unlock, and have no problems, and can make calls in/out and text in/out
t-mobile must be making out quite well from all this.
thanks again for the help.

I think he's talking about activating the SIM with T-Mobile...not activating the phone with the SIM.
As said before, just give the IMEI of the old T-Mobile phone and then move the SIM over. Although I doubt T-Mobile cares that you have an iPhone, they make their money off your monthly plan. You can buy unlocked phones everywhere, so what difference is it to them which unlocked phone you are using?
I'm on T-Mobile because we already had a nice family plan and AT&T coverage stinks here...I have had no problems.
Good luck!
