Default T-Mobile Activation help after 1.1.1 Jailbreak method

Since I've never used an unlocking method other than the IPSF software, I went ahead and went through the jailbreaking method provided by iPhone Dev Team. Everything went fine, after using the activation method the T-Mobile sign came up and I had signal, but after finishing the entire process there was no signal, so I stupidly turned off the iPhone's wireless to see if that made a difference, then restarted the iPhone and now it wants to be activated and the wireless is off, so I have now way of getting in there via SSH to retry the T-Mobile activation. Any suggestions or help? Can I use iPhuc to change some settings or do I have to start all the way back from the beginning?

bad news dude sorry to hear it! I have no idea the whole procedure seemed to complicated to me to risk a 600$AU device. They are like gold over here we can't take em back if they break

You should still have copy of your 1.0.2 lockdown folder if you did the 1.1.1 activation right? Why not restore back to 1.1.1 and start again?

Yes, I did the activation right, but doesn't the instructions backup the old lockdownd folder ON THE IPHONE, hence wouldn't it be wiped out by restoring to 1.1.1?

I had kind of the same problem, for me I didn't run the iAsign the last time, so after I replaced lockdownd.1.1.1 and restarted it seems to hold my activation now.

yes, that did the trick! I love what the instructions say then:

"Don't let iAsign fool you, the phone is now activated."

um..nope...iASign is telling it like it is.

Has anyone noticed a difference in signal strength between the 1.0.2 and 1.1.1 lockdownd, i.e., before and after?

Easiest way is to install the BSD subsystem and use passwd

i have a problem. my phone was bricked and i managed to unbrick it using IPSF and the phone is unlocked right now. at the moment. i am running firmware version 1.0.2 and i am able to insert any sim and use the phone. however when i upgrade to firmware version 1.1.1 i only can use the legit AT&T sim. when i insert a different sim it tells me to connect to itunes. any help to resolve this problem ? i want to upgrade to 1.1.1 and use T-Mobile
