hi

yesterday i did a OOB 1.1.1 phone with carnaval, it worked like charm, perfectly, everything ok.
this morning i tried to do the same with another iPhone, also OOB 1.1.1, did the same steps, got to the toc2rta page, safari crashed, but thats it.
carnaval says we've got a problem huston, iphuc.exe (in the carnacal dir) says:
notification: iphone atteched
AMDeviceService 'com.apple.afc': 3892314142
ls
Directory '/' does not exist.


the phone shows capacity 300mb in the about screen.

i then restored it with the DFU mode again restore to 1.1.1, made the same, with the same results, i cant see anything in iphuc.


any ideas?

Can you SSH to the phone? If so then to fix one of your issues delete media_sym located in /private/var/root.(restart after that). That will take care of the 300mb issue.. My only advice is with the other issue do another clean 1.1.1 wipe. If you anysimed it the anysim wont be affected by an itunes 1.1.1 wipe again.. Then just activate and jail break it.

is installer installed on the iphone? if yes... download bsd subsystem then download vt100 terminal....


then go to:

cd /private/var/root

then:

mv Media Media_sym

then

mv Mediaold Media

then reboot the iphone

and it should be fixed

One important tik i found out both yr pc n iphone must be connect to the same wi-fi. or else the 300mb problem will be out. tested about 7 times about this problem

i'll try the v100 method, hope it works.

ive had the problem too...

i think the problem originates when something fails with the carnaval process (not because carnaval itself.. but something user related..doing it too fast... not rebooting or something)...

then the toc2rta page (tiff exploit) stays saved on safari.... and when you finish all the unlock process and enter safari again for web browsing... the exploit activates again and do this 300 mb thingie...
