    Hi my sister got a iphone and it came with version 1.02 and she has it activated with AT&T and i told her that i would buy her a new one so i can get the 1.02 version is it possible for her to unactivate and to activate it on the new one that i will get her? and so that i can get her old one use it to unlock it so i can use it on my tmobile GSM?

    and does she even need to unactivate it on her old one?

    iPhones are a fracking pain re SIM cards out of the box. If you buy her a new phone, she'll need to use the new SIM that comes with it, and xfer her ATT account during the iTunes activation phase.

    so then i will be able to use her old phone without a problem and just to a restore mode and get it unlock..does she need to call that she is switching her iphone? or will it automatically just work

    why dont u just try buying the iphone at the same place as she did maybe it will be a lucky one, you never know

    ya do what sileighty said or just switch the sim like you would do with any other GSM phone.... come on now...
