hi
i'm trying to ssh my brothers phone to reverginize it
however it's not working properly and i dont' know why
it's 1.02 firmware.. restored to clean via itunes (option->restore->select the 1.02 firmware file) and then activated and installed ssh using independence 1.25

so i can connect to it via sftp which is cool
and then i connect using terminal
"ssh -l root 192.168.1.101"

ask for password and that i add it to known host so all that is good
i can connect to my iphone no problem

but after i put in the password and when it connects instead of "#" it gives me "-sh-3.2#"
and nothing works in it.. i can't even do the "ls" command

i also tried "ssh root@192.168.1.101" same error
and tried a bunch of different versions of independence..

is there like a certain software i need to install first? or a certain process??

install bsd - it has most of the binary (executable) command you need such as ls, mkdir, rmdir, rm, cat, vi and etc ...and a shell too

you can see the bsd package. you can download to your pc, extract it and see what's in there. Too bad there is no description of what's inside the package before you download it via app installer
