Default SOMEONE - Unlocking an ACTIVATED 1.1.2???

I am in need of some help. My phone was previously activate with AT&T. I really need some help here. THIS IS a 1.1.2 OTB

I Jailbroke the phone 3 weeks ago. When I unlocked the phone today, and put in my carriers sim card, it says " Different Sim Detected".....

ANYONE KNOW what I should do? Everything is totally done... how do I get the iphone to forget that it was activated using the AT&T sim card?

u need to do the hacktivation since your phone is legit activated with itunes.
so basically u needa downgrade and start over but do the full jailbreak without ur at&t activation. the unlock should remain after all this but if it isn't then re-unlock after ur back to 1.1.2jailbroken

Ok, I am a total newbie, so let me see if I know what you mean. I need to Down grade back to 1.1.1, jailbreak, update to 1.1.2, jailbreak, then run the unlock for 1.1.2 GEOLOCK... and do all of this WITHOUT ANY SIM CARD IN THE PHONE?

Or is your term "Hacktivation" some special process that I need to follow?

I did a simple downgrade to 1.1.1/jailbreak/Oaktoprep/Upgrade to 1.1.2/Jailbreak just a few days ago on a used phone for a friend of mine.No problems.Checked it with my cingular sim afterwards and it was up and running.

I had the original iphone unactivated sim in that phone during that process.

Your problem might be because of 2 different reasons.

First when u did the jailbreak what sim was in the phone?Did that sim have the lock turned on?

Second u might have done something wrong during the unlock process.Cant help u here as I have not done it and not read enough about it.

This is the complete story. The iPhone was ACTIVATED via iTunes by someone else. I purchased the phone from this person, and I jailbroke ( a few weeks ago )the phone while the iPhone still had a WORKING At&T sim card in the phone with FULL SERVICE.

The Service has Since been disconnected, but I still have that origianl AT&T sim card that was in the phone during activation ( the the original owner ).

Is there anyway that I can downgrade back to 1.1.1 to redo the entire process without a simcard in the phone? Or would this even help???

I have heard of a "patch lockdown" that was used for 1.1.1 OTB phones that were activated on AT&T.. but I have no clue if it would work, or what it would do if I tried it.

So, basically I have an unlocked, jailbroken phone that I never had to hack passed activation because it was activated. Its been downgraded to 1.1.1, then jail broken, upgraded to 1.1.2... you know the story..Then I unlocked it with iClarified.

I put sim in, I get " Different Sim Detected"

First of all, what do you mean by "I put sim in, I get "Different Sim Detected"?"

Are you putting that same AT&T sim back in? If so why? It will not work if the service on the card has been disconnected. I can help you with the process. I just need to know a few things. I'll send you a pm.

No, I was referring to my Current Carrier's Sim. Sorry about the confusion.

you need to act like u just bought the iphone and start from scratch, it was activated legally so wont accept any sim but the one u used when it was activated.

you need to do the standard jailbreak process without a activated at&t sim, when u jailbreak it hAcktivates for you and should work.
