What I mean is since the hardware is the same, why not uploading an old software and do the job...(like uninstalling vista and installing xp on a notebook I recently bought )
You can erase EVERYTHING, except the bootloader.
And the new bootloader makes patching the firmware impossible. So therefore: no unlock with the new bootloader (yet).

Is the bootloader actaully a piece of software in the memory or in a read-only chips?

can we flash out the bootloader with the old one?

    I just found this site.

It is proposing a way to unlock virgin 1.1.2 fw phones with the new bb. First iphone has to be downdraded to 1.1.1 fw,then u just go on unlocking it, and finally u end up with an unlocked 1.1.1 iphone.

Not bad at all IF its working.

Only con to te above method is that it uses the Anysim 1.2 application which according to many people in the forum it might not work...

I doubt it, since it doesn't say anything about 1.1.2 OTB at all.

BTW, there's somebody in the irc used Anysim 1.2 to unlock his UK iPhone, and yes, it does brick his iPhone ..

Maybe we've to wait for devteam, just to be sure
