Default Some observations on 1.1.2 Security

I have activated my iPhones through AT&T (after updating to 1.1.2)

I can confirm something quite disturbing:

    - It detected I was using a TurboSim
    - I would get my non-ATT reception but when I go into the Phone feature it would automatically exit (this would not happen with my ATT sim)
So the phone application so has some kind of extra security check in place every time you click on it, it will check the legitimacy of the Sim Card.

So all in all I am fucked.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Also anyone know how to downgrade? :p

It sounds very very odd that you'd get non-AT&T reception but not be able to use the phone function. Sounds like the SIM is accepted but something else is broken. Can you receive calls with TurboSIM?

    ricochet its very very weird

you can receive a call but once you click answer the actual phone application screen is hidden from you so you can't hang up or anything its so weird and definitely scary

I'm in n.sydney if you don't believe me and wanna check it out yourself.

I just tried to downgrade my firmware to 1.1.1 but that did not work either just gave me and error on iTunes and now stuck on a picture on the iPhone telling me to connect it to itunes

TUAW is reporting some users have managed to downgrade back to 1.1.1 or 1.0.2: http://www.tuaw.com/2007/11/08/apple...ate/2#c8595130

you might want to give that a shot (i'm not sure where they sourced that information though)

Make sure itunes is running and ibrickr is runnin. Connect your iPhone to comp. It should get rid of the restore mode. I went thru the samething yesterday, that;s what I did and it helped me.

Have you tried putting the 1.1.1 MobilePhone.app in the 1.1.2 firmware? Try that.

How could he try that when 1.1.2 isn't even jailbroken yet? There's no way to access the file structure...
