now after installing octoprep I go to iTunes "check for updates" and I have three buttons. "Cancel" "Download and Install" and "Cancel". Should I press "Download and Install".

I ask because I saw on internet that there should be only button "Install" without downloading anything. I don't want to do anytjing wrong. Please advice me. Thanx

I seem to be having the same problem as wipi. i had a version 1.1.2 iphone, downgraded it to 1.1.1, everything was going fine until i click on "install appsnapp" in the jailbreakme site. it just loads for a second then switches back to the homepage. did you try anything different wipi, or did u simply just keep trying?

When I try in windows XP start winscp that black screen disappears

deccypoo: I just kept trying doing the same go to www.jailbreakme.com and click on install AppSnapp. Did it about 30 times. Once I tried to connect to iTunes disconnect from pc and tried again and again.

I can't connect to my iPhone. Tried to put to Host name IP of my iPhone but error msg with connection

wipi, i kept trying and eventually got the stuff installed. now im upgrading back to 1.1.2. I thought that if your iphone is bootloader 4.6 you couldnt activate it, isnt that the one made past week 45? I have a week 47 iphone and thought i would just have to sit tight with what is basically an ipod touch until people work out how to activate it.

I have 1.1.2. 4.06 bootloader with turbo sim fully worked on Czech T-Mobile network. Thanx to guys from here who helped me, thanx to yours tutorials and everybody who worked on it. I will donate definitelly!

Other alternative, just add jailbreak.toc2rta.com to your contacts so you have :

Use the second and third until it works

use toc2rta.com then after nothing happens connect your cable and
continue activating using brasuco 0.8 it will be ok then 300mb issue
will be next just search how to fix it..
