[solved] 1.1.3 or 1.1.4 OTB downgrade error
All,
The trick is how you set the iPhone into recovery mode. If you are unable to restore the iPhone to 1.1.1 then this post is for you:
In your step 1 of any jailbreak/unlock method, you must set the iPhone to "restore mode". For 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 OTB you *MUST* do it like this:
Press BOTH buttons (home + pwr) for 10 seconds (count them!).
After *exactly* 10 seconds release the pwr button while still holding the home button. After 15-20 seconds, the iPhone should go into recovery mode (you will be notified by iTunes).
Now you can downgrade to 1.1.1 succesfully.
Please note that I had to downgrade *TWO* times in a row, in order to kick the iPhone out of recovery mode (I used iNdepence).
As highlighted in the link below, this has worked on 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 OTB 8GB and 16GB iPhones!
Robo-life: 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 OTB
Cheers,
