Default [Solutions] for some ZiPhone issues

There has been a lot of negativity written about using the Ziphone 3.0 method. But I have a few positive facts and a few solutions that I would like to mention.

I decided to write this because these methods work for me and I just wanted to share this from my experience.

    DOWNGRADED BOOTLOADER ISSUE:

For those who are concerned about their bootloader being downgraded from 4.6 to 3.9, YOU CAN UNCHECK THE "DOWNGRADE BOOTLOADER" OPTION IN "ADVANCED FEATURES" BEFORE THE UNLOCKING PROCESS (it is checked by default), if you don't know how to do this or can't figure out how to uncheck the option... STOP READING AND PAY SOMEONE TO DO THE UNLOCK FOR YOU USING ANOTHER PROVEN METHOD.

WHICH BOOTLOADER SHOULD I HAVE ANYWAY?

For those who of you have used ZIPHONE and think your bootloader was downgraded from 4.6 to 3.9 cause you didn't uncheck the "Downgrade Bootloader" option.... I have good news for some:

What is the week of manufacture of your iPhone? (the 4th and 5th digits of your serial number) If your iPhone was built BEFORE week 45, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO COME WITH version 3.9 ANYWAY!

I have a week 41 iPhone and I’ve upgraded my bootloader to 4.6 (How? Read on)… OH NO, I’VE VOIDED MY WARRANTY!! LOL!! Ahh… who cares, I’ll be getting the 3g iPhone anyway.

    SAME MAC/WIFI ADDRESS ISSUE:

For those who are concerned about the "same mac/wifi address" issue, it only occurs if you choose "FIX NO WIFI" option in "Advanced Features". If this is unchecked, you will not have this problem. It is unchecked by default. I do not recommend using this feature even if your wifi is greyed out. I would try and restore to a previous firmware.

If you have problems (wifi not working, greyed etc), try downgrading your firmware to 1.1.3 and re-using Ziphone 3.0 (yes it works) and remember to do the things I've mentioned above. Things should work out for most of you. If you can see your carrier logo and signal after updating/downgrading the firmware using iTunes BEFORE USING Ziphone, that means your iPhone is already unlocked. Just click on “Jailbreak and Activate” instead of “Do It All!”

    Here’s a helpful video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-z3R9SwVc4

Bottom line: It's AN EASY, FREE ONE CLICK SOLUTION to "unlock, activate & jailbreak" your iPhone. I wouldn’t even have the balls to attempt upgrading the firmware if this method doesn’t exist.

If you have used Ziphone 3.0 and it works fine with no major issues... be grateful, relax, be happy and stop finding out ways to undo it or upgrade the bootloader to 4.6.

BUT WHAT IF I STILL WANT TO UPGRADE MY BL?

If you still want to upgrade your bootloader for warranty or any other reasons, here’s a solution:

Install “BOOTNEUTER” from installer. It’s another one click, easy method to reflash your bootloader to either 4.6 or 3.9. Please do your research before using this, as this COULD BRICK YOUR iPHONE. Remember to use common sense and turn autolock to “Never” and have a full charge before attempting this.

    Here’s a helpful link:
    http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37253

If you're still not comfortable using Ziphone 3.0 after reading this... do yourself a favour and find another method or pay someone to do it for you. Just make sure the unlocker you are paying is not using Ziphone or you’ll feel ripped off!

For the record, I’ve used Ziphone 3.0 to unlock my iPhone twice (1.1.1 OTB week 41) and also jailbreaked my iPod Touch without problems. I’ve also successfully upgraded my bootloader from 3.9 to 4.6 using Bootneuter. So yes, I've actually used these methods. I understand that some of you have unlocked/upgraded 100s of iPhones commercially and are used to the more complicated but proven methods. But for me and many others with little experience, these methods seems the way to go at the moment... fortunately for me, with success!!

Please not that although they are relatively easy processes, they are very high risk! Use common sense and use with caution.

A BIG THANKS TO BOTH CREATORS OF ZIPHONE AND BOOTNEUTER FOR GIVING ME THE CHANCE AND THE BALLS TO DO THESE 2 HIGH RISK PROCESSES.

Relax, don't stress, be happy. There are better things in life than unlocking your iPhones.

    Peace!

Do you have a sensible solution for people like me, whose screens have frozen and the slider does not work?
Well ZiPhone is an average product but it has caused a lot of damage to a lot of people and it is fair that people let their ire out at ZiPhone and its creator(for other known reasons too).

Ah i see your new to this. IPhone is no country for noobs, allow me to help you with your guide

1 a lot of people care about there warrenty, they want to be able to replace thier phone just in case it breaks and its apples fault. Thats bootnuter comes in, you have a iusse just swtich it back before you restore thats. Dosnet matter where you get it from could be pawnge or it could be installer (make sure you trust the source)

2 grey wifi cannot be fixed by downgrading and re using ziphone. Ziphone got you in that mess anyways. This can most likely be foxed by dev teams swifi fix.

3 if you want a easy fix and have little to no expriance then iplus/iliberty has got you coverd. You can got to 3.9 fb and back if you choose also. No permant downgrade

Yeah... I've used Bootneuter successfuly after using Ziphone as mentioned on my original post.

I'm not entirely sure on this after reading these 2 threads:

Fortunately, my WiFi is OK... but I'm going to use it a lot to see if I get to the greyed stage on purpose.

Permanent downgrade? I was able to use Bootneuter successfully after using Ziphone... Which part of the process is permanent?

it used to to be, before bootnuter was out, but before bootnueter there were the fakeblanks thats why people used iplus/ilberty and also why there was bad talk of ziphone also because of the fact that zibri didnt really make it. also dont break your wifi, iphone with out wifi is nothing to sneeze at lol

Yeah, I read about Zibri (or whatever his name is) that he copied directly from other methods. I can feel the hate here towards him.

If I've done my research... I've probably would have gone with Liberty or Pwned tool. I just stumbled across Ziphone when I was browsing YouTube, I thought it was easy enough for me to attempt it. The Pwned tool just seems a more logical way to do it, I'll probably try that for 2.0 when it's released.

I wanna have a reason to buy the 3G iPhone when it's out (not long to go)... that's why I am thinking of messing the wifi up.
