In terminal, how do I get to the area to do all those commands and access the files I just uploaded onto the phone?

    my terminal says: iphone:~ root#
when I type 'ls" it says Library Media. How do I get to the /bin or /usr area?

cd bin gives me a ~sh: cd: bin: No such files or directory.

has anybody tried using winpwn tool. ... i mean there is upgrade bootloaders by setting the boot loader files for both 3.9 and 4.6.....that shoud do the trick....i mean that is all that is required to fix this problem isnt it .... "reinstalling the baseband somehow..." winpwn shoud do it......

i would have tried this on my own phone but phone is in America trying to be replaced .... ...
    do post back the results.....
    thanks...

I've fixed my terminal.app issues and worked my way though everything and no success.

I still don't get it that if so many ppl have this issue, why is there no fix on the way? I would say, this is the only roadblock people could have in upgrading their iphones.

Ugh, so damn frustrated right now.

winpwn tool won't work, its the same as bootneuter, you can flip the 3.9 and 4.6 all you want and it won't work.

    4) Send ienew and support files over USB.
    5) Run ienew in Mobile Terminal

someone could give a hand with the above points?

I am using pc suite to transfer files. I can access the phone directories, but i am not sure where I should place the files I have to upload on my iphone.

besides mobile terminal is like putty? if so how can I access the phone if I do not even know the ip.. (my wifi icon is gray)?

if someone can help would be great..

MObile terminal is an app that is installed on the iphone . which works like a command Prompt or shell ....put the file in a new directory on the iphone via usb then run the "terminal .app " on your iphone ....login ...go the the directory where you placed the files and Run ienew..

This gets better when you sucessfully kill CommCenter, which you need to do anyway for the erase. "launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist". This just wasn't doing it for me so I rebooted and used the more persistent version: "launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist". The -w option will kill CommCenter on the next boot. Don't worry about that because you'll be restoring soon. Now you can type properly, set the permission on ienew by changing to the folder it's in (e.g. /usr/bin/unscrew or whatever) and entering "chmod +x ienew". You should get the following:

    Code:
    # ienew
    Resetting the Baseband...Done
    Opened: /dev/tty.baseband
iEraser for 112OTB: tool by geohot

I have followed the steps till here. I have created a folder in my iphone (usr/ienew) and copied there the files in the zip file. I have then using Term-vt100 run the commands, but at the end it says zsh: permission denied: ienew.
I have just tried to rerun the launchctl command and it says no such process, but still access denied.

any clue why it does not work?

    thanks
