But that wont work since there are rows with the same amount of numbers. So i'm guessing i'm using this wrong. The area codes for Sweden http://www.eniro.se/riktnummer/0-9.shtml should i in some way use them to tweak the template?
I took the list of Swedish area codes from that URL and translated them into area code masks for the templates. With those area code masks (in that order!) my decompo*******Number algorithm will be able to know when a Swedish area code is 1, 2 or 3 digits long. You probably need to use each area code more than once, because a phone number can be 7, 8 or 9 digits long.

    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/swed...odes_input.txt
    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/swed...des_output.txt

Example: (using area code masks from output.txt file)

    Code:
    ...
    se 46 00 !0 19 ######
    se 46 00 !0 19 #######
    se 46 00 !0 1## #####
    se 46 00 !0 1## ######
    ...

I'm going to introduce the ";" character in the subscriber number mask so that you can write

    se 46 00 !0 8 ######
    se 46 00 !0 8 #######
    se 46 00 !0 8 ########

    as

    se 46 00 !0 8 ######;#######;########

Thank you very much, looks great. Thought that it was something like that i needed to do. Will you release a new win32 binary with the ; character also? It is easier to test the template in windows.

One question about the calldata thing you are working on. Will you have any instructions on how i can convert Klim's CallData database to use with your approach instead? Or maybe it is easier to create a new database according to your design?
Would it be possible to see the calldata information before answering a call? To only see it in the recent list is cool, but not as useful as it would to see it when you receive a call.

Many thanks for the great work you are doing. I'm amazed of what some people can do with a iPhone.

Yes. I will first implement the support for ";" in a win32 binary. When it works I will update PhoneNumber.dylib and release build 3, probably without the CopyCallInfo support. The decomp*******Number win32 binary will also be released because like you said, it is easier to test the templates. Should be ready in 1 or 2 hours if not sooner.

It might indeed be easier to create a new database, but if you're handy with macros and search/replace then you can convert a sqlite3 "dump" (create table, insert into, etc.) of Klim's CallData into a new "dump" to create the new database with.

If it is not implemented by Apple, then no.

EDIT: does not look like Apple implemented "show location info on incoming call"

I've uploaded build 3 of my PhoneNumber Dynamic Library.

    • added support for ";" separator in subscriber number mask
    • added new templates for Italy and Sweden

    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/

EDIT: for performance reasons it is recommended that you move the templates for your country in PhoneNumberTemplates.txt to the top of the file.

Works perfect for Sweden. But realized that in that areacode list for Sweden, mobile phones was not included. So when you release your next build, or if you update anyway, add "se 46 00 !0 7# #######" and mobilephone numbers will be matched too.

    Thanks!

I've uploaded build 4 of my PhoneNumber Dynamic Library.

    • added template for mobile phone numbers in Sweden
    • changed order of templates for Belgium
    • uncommented workaround templates for Martinique and French Guiana

    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/

For performance reasons it is recommended that you move the templates for your country in PhoneNumberTemplates.txt to the top of the file.

Hi Tim, I have some quick questions (excuse me if they are stupid). How will your patched AppSupport making use of masks be able to decompose numbers where area code + subscriber number = same?

If I have two kinds of numbers namely: 123-1234567 and 1234-123456 and I make the corresponding entries in the template file:

    in 91 00 0 ### #######
    in 91 00 0 #### ######

After that if I get a call from +91-1234567123 then which of the above rules will fire?

Another thing that is bugging me is that why is it important that the number gets decomposed correctly in area code+subscriber number? What if someone gave area code length as 0 and the remaining number length = area_code+subscriber_length; will it result in number not getting identified?

I read the pages in this thread bu couldn't get answer to these.

    thanks!

I have added the PhoneNumberTemplates.txt file as a seperate download on my download page because it gets updated more frequently than the PhoneNumber Dynamic Library, who uses it.

    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/

Please take a look at the templates for your country in this file and if something is missing/wrong then send me a PM and I'll update the file.

The first one. So in the decomposed phone number the area code would be "123" and subscriber number would be "4567123".

Good question. The area code can be used to show location info if you are being called by someone you don't know. This information is accessible from the "recents calls" page. This is what the CopyCallInfo function is for. If the area code is too short/long then no location information is returned. I also vaguely remember that a correctly decomposed area code and subscriber number is also important to compare two equal phone numbers, where one contains the area code and the other one doesn't.
