    1. Download http://www.sendspace.com/file/dkkze1
    2. Copy "AppSupport" and "AppSupport.original" to /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/ on your iPhone.
    3. Copy "PhoneNumber.dylib" and "PhoneNumberTemplates.txt" from the Support directory to /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support/ on your iPhone. Create the Support directory on your iPhone if it does not already exist.
    4. Add templates for your country to the "PhoneNumberTemplates.txt" file. Remember to use a sequence of # characters instead of numeric values for area code and subscriber number. (e.g. "be 32 00 0 2 6" becomes "be 32 00 0 ## ######")
    5. Reboot iPhone.

    I also included a special version of PhoneNumber.dylib that won't use phone number templates. Instead it uses the x rightmost digits. If you want to use the x rightmost digits approach then overwrite PhoneNumber.dylib on your iPhone with PhoneNumber-x.dylib (where x is the number of rightmost digits).

    For Germany you might want to add

    de 49 00 0 #### ####

    cause that one is missing even in Apples settings. Know it cause my parents live in a small town around 20k people. Typically during the 60-80's T-Mobile gave phone numbers according to this pattern in most midsize/small towns in Germany.

    volkspost

    btw: big thhanks to timschuerewegen for making all this available and aviegas for asking the right questions

    Look for yourself

    Code:
    uint32_t decompo*******Number( char *PhoneNumber, CFStringRef CountryCode, struct DecomposedPhoneNumber *DecomposedPhoneNumber)
    {
    	uint32_t PhoneNumberLength, SubscriberNumberSize;
    	// check parameters
    	if ((!PhoneNumber) || (!DecomposedPhoneNumber)) return 0;
    	// get phone number length
    	PhoneNumberLength = strlen( PhoneNumber);
    	// get subscriber number size
    	SubscriberNumberSize = PhoneNumberLength;
    	if (SubscriberNumberSize > MaximumSubscriberNumberSize) SubscriberNumberSize = MaximumSubscriberNumberSize;
    	// decompose phone number
    	DecomposedPhoneNumber->SubscriberNumberData = PhoneNumber + PhoneNumberLength - SubscriberNumberSize;
    	DecomposedPhoneNumber->SubscriberNumberSize = SubscriberNumberSize;
    	// done
    	return 1;
    }

    I have used the list of Italian area codes from http://www.comuni-italiani.it/tel/index.html and translated them into new templates. With new templates I mean the ones in the PhoneNumberTemplates.txt file used by PhoneNumber.dylib (see one of my previous posts).

    Can anyone from Italy please try them and check if "Framework AppSupport decompo*******Number <phonenumber> it" reports the correct area code and subscriber number? If you have installed Klim's CallData for Italy then it should display the area code under the phone number on the keypad.

    EDIT: Forget Klim's CallData. It will not work due to the way it is designed. No need to try it.

    Code:
    it 39 00 - 02 #######
    it 39 00 - 02 ########
    it 39 00 - 06 #######
    it 39 00 - 06 ########
    it 39 00 - 0#0 ######
    it 39 00 - 0#0 #######
    it 39 00 - 0#1 ######
    it 39 00 - 0#1 #######
    it 39 00 - 0#5 ######
    it 39 00 - 0#5 #######
    it 39 00 - 0#9 ######
    it 39 00 - 0#9 #######
    it 39 00 - 0### #####
    it 39 00 - 0### ######
    it 39 00 - 3## ######
    it 39 00 - 3## #######

    ok first of all thank you so much for all the effort that everyone has put in to getting this to work properly, I do however seem to have a small issue, im trying to just use the file with the 7 rightmost digits, however i keep finding that the phone after following the guide would not let me in to the call / contacts menu, it just jumps to the original screen.

    this happens after i either copy both "appsupport" & "appsupport original" or create the subdirectory "support" as per guide.

    did anyone encounter this issue? if so what was your solution?

    If you have overwritten the AppSupport file on your iPhone with the AppSupport file from my zip file then the only explanation why MobilePhone/SMS would crash (and exit to Springboard) would be because Support/PhoneNumber.dylib is missing on your iPhone. Make sure it exists. You need to remove the "-7" from the filename.

    3) Open a "command prompt" (windows) or a "terminal" (Mac OS X) and type

    "cd Desktop/patcher"

    4) Dump the original table

    Win: pntedit read AppSupport PhoneNumberTemplates.txt

    - IDD Prefix (International Direct Dialing)
    - NDD Prefix (National Direct Dialing)

    6) Create a patched version of AppSupport

    Win: pntedit write AppSupport PhoneNumberTemplates.txt AppSupport.Patched

    Hey

    Thank you so much for your answer, just to clarify though, do I have to replace my AppSupport file with BOTH your files "AppSupport" & AppSupport Original" ?
