Yes I am actually refering to phone numbers in SMS text, but if you say that it is not related to AppSupport, that is helpful, because I'll stop messing arround with that file, and head other way.

    thanks.

can anyone help me out please?
    unlocked 1.1.2 & Mac OsX

i took a copy of appsupport from my phone, downloaded pntedit.
where do I go to next?

I put both in a folder on my desktop, ran pntedit but Terminal either reports a bus error or invalid parameters.

I need a little more help please...

Numbers do format on SMS text for me. I've never checked how it's done. Maybe it uses AppSupport to check if the number string validates.

Try using Tim's Framework tool to check if the number decomposes correctly. If it does, and still do not show on the SMS then it's not processed by AppSupport (or at least by the callerid matching and decomposing routines).

    Search the thread for "Framework".

Just had to add 2 lines for aussie support, make sure they're in ascending order.

    trust me i have tried.

this stuff is over my head. all i want is to know who is calling me (something Apple should be providing as standard)

all i want to know is what to ammend so I can use my iPhone in Ireland and see who is calling me. I see others have asked the same for their countries, ie Brazil, Italy argentina etc etc etc and have had help..

its easy when you know how, not so when you dont.

Aviegas, do you have any ideas for the Argentine numbers?

Maybe adding another string with the 54 plus the 9 of out-of-the-country-call-to-mobile, like

    ar 54 00 0 2 8
    ar 54 00 0 3 7
    ar 54 00 0 4 6
    ar 54 00 0 5 5

    ar 549 00 0 2 8
    ar 549 00 0 3 7
    ar 549 00 0 4 6
    ar 549 00 0 5 5

(although I've tried this and didn't work)

With the 1.1.1 and before method the matching was ok.
Now it's being a pain... to the point to downgrade to 1.1.1 .

Any sugestions, please... I'm ready to try any crazy ideas!

    TIA
