    The standard is

    [ISO Code] [country Code] [IDD=Internacional Direct Dial] [NDD=National direct Dial] [Area Code] [Phone number]

    For example, here in Venezuela is

    ve 58 00 0 3 7

    as the numbers are +58 412 1234567, being 58 the Country code, 00 the IDD, 0 de NDD, 412 the Area Code and 1234567 the phone number.
    If I understand correctly would this be correct for Jamaican

    ja 876 011 1 3 7

    +876 945 1234 ?

    Hi kalonji ,

    I have a friend in Barbados which is +1 246 253 XXXX and I sent the file formatted as

    bb 246 011 1 3 7

    and it worked like a charmed for him, so it must work as

    ja 876 011 1 3 7

    as Jamaica uses the same formating as Barbados.

    That's not correct. If you translate "bb 246 011 1 3 7" back into a phone number then you get "+246 123 1234567" (international) and "1 123 1234567" (local).

    Hi timschuerewegen

    what would be the correct formate then for bb and ja cause I go there sometime aswel
    Thanks in advance...

    My aim is the stop the sms/phone crashing when in Jamaica. This what I have done so far

    ssh root@192.168.1.6 into my phone and added the MNC/MCC for Digicel an C&W

    ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/UnknownCarrier.plist /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/33805

    ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/UnknownCarrier.plist /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/338020

    I am on the last step now, the add the App Support part
    any input will be greatly appreciated...

    Im been reading this thread for the past several hours, and think I have a understanding of how this work. I have extracted the
    PhoneNumberTemplate.txt from AppSupport with pntdeit i386.

    I don't want to edit the AppSupport wrongly and prevent my 1.1.2 iPhone from booting, so I just want to confirm something. This is what I've gather so far

    From this http://www.kropla.com/dialcode.htm I found out that Jamaica area code =
    Jamaica +1-876* 011 1
    I assume that I need to edit AppSupport to look like this
    e.g.
    ja 876 020 1 3 7 =Digicel
    ja 876 005 1 3 7 = C&W
    ja 876 180 1 3 7 = C&W

    Would this work? Thanks in Advance
    It seems that you have missed an important posting: Jamaica is part of the North American Numbering Plan (NANP), so the phone numbers in jamaica use the same rules as US and Canada.

    So a single lineis needed:

    ja 1 011 1 3 7

    That's all you need.

    Remove any country you do not need and add that single line.

    Tim, as I pointed out NANP implies:
    CC=1
    IDD=011
    NDD=1
    Area code=3 digits
    Subscriber number=7 digits

    These countries are like a single US area code.

    This is true for ALL NANP countries: US, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and American Samoa.

    Anything that is not a "+", a number, "#" and "*" is removed before the decomposing

    Now from your posting, if that's the only format you receive:

    hk 852 001 - 0 8
    hk 852 009 - 0 8
    hk 852 0080 - 0 8

    Assuming all numbers are 8 digits. The 3 lines are for the 3 providers of international calls, per: http://www.kropla.com/dialcode.htm

    Hey Aviegas,

    You're the MAN! It works! thank you !
