hi... i want to try this but have a stupid questions...

    in australia....

    mobile numbers are

    0412 345 678 - 10 digits for local numbers or
    +61 412 345 678 - 11 digits for international format (not including the + symbol)
i.e. for international format, the 0 is replaced by +61

    for local numbers...

    02 9123 4567 - 10 digist for local numbers or
    +61 2 9123 4567 - 11 digist for international format...
i.e. for international format, the 0 is placed by +61

either way, the last 9 numbers seem to be the key, so would't we (for australia) need a file that does the matching based on teh last 9 numbers? not 8 or 7... otherwise, if you use the last 8 numbers, then it won't look at the area code and if you have two identical numbers from two diferent area codes, you could have a mismatch? I know the odds are remote but in the interests of doing the matching correctly?!?!?

    Thoughts anyone?

Yes, for that circumstances the 9 digit match would be most accurate.. i have in my contact of different person with same phone numbers but different area codes.. so the the 7 digit match would incorrectly match names..but chances are low.. for your country i would use 8 or 9 digit

I just opened up the file and all the area codes and countries (USA/Canada) is in there.

I was about to change it to my local settings but realized that all the people I know use a cell phone so it doesn't really matter for me

But I hope some of you can use this.

    Regards
    Martin
Thanks Martin, will get to that today.

I used to work for a telco company, and its a common thing, its not too difficult to get hold of a white pages usually. We used to use a simple flat txt file, so I will dig it out and see if I can import.

This is getting very close to having everything done now :-)
