It is still crashing on the countrycode query though (no fk - error 138)

Does your UIMobileCountryCodes.plist file contain the following?

    <key>750</key>
    <string>fk</string>

If not then that might explain why you still get an error.

EDIT: you can convert that file to plain text (so you can edit it) via http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi

Hi guys - away from my main PC for the evening so I will try editing this file in the morning!! Thanks very much for the tip

I noticed that my texts and landline numbers that I recieve from friends are caller identifed however if I recieve a mobile phone call the number just appears and the caller is not actually identified - is the above something to do with this or is this some other problem?????

    Cheers

Paul (A knackered and sleepy Paul from his 1.1.2 upgrade today!!!)

There are countries where a LOCAL number can be dialed in two formats:

    - Just the number, like 12341234
    - As in a long distance, like NDD+Area Code+Local Number

The carrier will strip unnecessary NDD+Area Code

Examples are Brazil and US, and other may have this nice feature/service.

Why is it a feature? Because it's specially very nice for those who travel and have contacts entries for people in different cities. Then all numbers can be entered as long distance, so you can use your contacts to call from anywhere.

This is common on large countries, with several areas codes, where local numbers are already 7 or 8 digits.

Apple has 2 matching "styles". The "strict" way, that required a full matching and the "loose" way, that allows a number without Area_Code to match one with area code. The "Recent Calls" list uses the loose one, while the dialpad uses the "strict" one.

So, you dial 12341234 in the dialpad and you see no match. After the call you look at the "Recent Calls" and you see "Joe Doe". Why, because you have Joe's entry as 033-12341234.

So the extra patch is to make the dialpad use a "loose" matching style.

    Crystal Clear !

but on my phone, i have a TESTE entry with 041 (11) 8888-8888 at my contacts and at dialpad, if i enter just 8888-8888, it shows TESTE as the contact im dialing to.

thats why im asking about the patch, my phone isnt patched for it and it do the match. dont know why.

    cheers,

    cRACKn

That 2nd value is zero and means that keypad is not going to match 0411188888888 and 88888888. Are you 100% sure you didn't accidentally patch those 4 bytes?

im sure, i can recheck but the appsupport that im using have just the table modifications for Brazil.

what bytes are you looking for and what values need to be the original and patched ones?

EDIT: if you are looking for 0x2DE8, mine still (3F 10 DD E5).
    so not patched.

Post a link to a copy of your AppSupport and I will give it a try. But the "Framework" calls do not lie.

Also, can you do another test?

    - Save a copy of your Contacts databases (/var/root/Library/AddressBook) files (there are two files there).

    - Remove the database files. It wil create new empty ones.

    - Now, create a SINGLE TEST Contat, like 0411188888888

    - Try again the dialpad and the "Framework"

    - Post

    - Restore your Contacts
