    Default Need Some Help!!

Hi - I have an unlocked iphone workly beautifully in the UK and want to keep it that way!!

However, I would like to change the number format as per this post and also the message alert tone.

My problem is that I don't know how my phone was unlocked and am unsure of what I should use to change the files on the iphone - I don't want to mess my phone up!!

Would it be OK to use INdependence to access the files and change?

    Help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    Many thanks....

    PS. I use an imac....

when you receive SMSs from an unknown number, it'll display all the mumbo jumbo i.e. +61 4 24456###

is there a fix for this?
There's no "fix" for what you just described, because it is not a "problem". When you receive a call or SMS from an unknown number, of course the phone will show you the number. Did you think it will automagically know the caller's name and display that to you?

regardless of how it was unlocked ( GeoHot / IPSF / DevTeam ) the way you change files is BSD Subsystem / SSH / Jailbreak

    Independence is ok.

yeah, i know but can't it come up and save in the normal format?
    i.e. 0405 123 456 as opposed to +61 4 05123 456 which is what it is now?

Can anyone post step by step how to do this? I'm a bit of a newbie so not really sure and don't want to mess it up.

    Thanks.

As far as I know, there is no steps. It's pretty easy. Just read post #1. Good luck!

hmm, does anyone has problems with sms receiving and opening the sms app?

i'm not sure if it has something to with the modified caller id file, services.app or the sms i've reached.
but now the sms.app doesn't work anymore....
solution is here, but i better wanna ask before it happens again ;-)

    thx alot
