I'm just wondering whether you could add the info (ci 225 00 - - ########) for Cote d'Ivoire (or Ivory Coast) in the phoneNumberTemplates and send it back to me.
Also, how could I edit the PhoneNumberTemplates?
Ive few African countries I want to take care of but I can't since it's a plist file (I'm windows xp) .

    Regards,

    Tim,
It works perfect for landline numbers (8 digit numbers starting with 2 or 3) only.
It does not work for mobile phones (8 digit numbers starting wit a 0).
The funny thing is that all numbers in Cote d'ivoire are made of 8 digits with no regional code, so I don't understand where this issue is coming from.

For your info, I used to modify build 9 with the following info for Cote d'Ivoire
ci 225 00 - - ######## and it was working fine on my 1.1.4 iphone.
But I had to reinstall the phone and when I downloaded and installed build 13, it wasn't recognizing my contacts id anymore.

Any idea with what goes wrong?

Generate a log file and send it to me. Look through my recents posts for one where I mention PhoneNumber.dylib.debug to know how you generate a log file.

That's not weird at all. That "0" is called the NDD.

Using the information from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telepho...ers_in_Vietnam I created the following templates.

    http://users.skynet.be/ra045246/Phon...es_Vietnam.txt
Add them to the PhoneNumberTemplates.txt file located in the the /System/Library/Frameworks/AppSupport.framework/Support/ directory on your iPhone.

EDIT: These are "new" templates so you have to use them in combination with "PhoneNumber Dynamic Library", not "PhoneNumber Template Editor" (pntedit).

Tim, could you pls re-upload the txt file for vietnam? Tks anyway.

It didn't work completely for me (I'm in Honduras). I had to do this.

through iClarified, I've installed 1.1.4 AppSupport. It has considerably slowed down opening up the SMS app. 3seconds vs. 8seconds (Tested before and after installation of AppSupport with just two SMS conversations, and once again after uninstallation).

    Can this be fixed via:

    Manual installation?

Putting my country near the top of the list? If this is the solution, what do I edit to put India at the top?

Thanks, Tim. I love the effort you've put into this. I'll be donating at the end of this month.

Just tested a manual install from your site. It shaved off 3 seconds. Now, SMS.app opens in five seconds.

looking more into the plists, I've noticed that India has a crazy amount of detail. Could this be causing the slow-down? If so, is there a way to simplify it?

Without appsupport, the application opens up SMS.app in 3 seconds.

Through manual install of appsupport, it opens in 5 seconds.

Through iClarified install, SMS.app opens in eight seconds.

Right now, there are only two conversations in the SMS application. It was a LOT slower when there were forty conversations.

speed of the sms apps openning is really a concern to me as the i use it a lot in my day to day acts. in my case it took 12 sec to open.

i am really interested to know does moving my country to the top helps to speed things up?

I am also thinking of manually remove those i don't need. Is there a doc that explains how the data are structured? i am worried of messing up the file and the phone.

is there a way to selectively install only the countries that i am interested? very much like the CallData method where basically each country is listed in the installer application list as an item by itself.
