You put those 3 template lines in the phone number templates text file.

I agree it would be easier (and possibly faster) if we can somehow go back to the last x digit matching of callerid like in 1.1.1. This new method worked for me when I am in HK but now that I am traveling in the US, none of the incoming calls get hashed back into the caller name. I store my US phone numbers +1XXXXXXXXXX in the phone.
Anyone else knows a way around this or at least a working US template? Thanks.

Hi, can anyone help me please? for Ecuador the template just shows this:
// Ecuador [ec]
and in Ecuador the numbers are like this:
landlines +593 2 2123123
mobiles +593 8 7123123 or +593 9 7123123
to dial the phones you do it like this:
landlines 02 2123123
mobiles 08 7123123
what do I have to put in under
// Ecuador [ec]
so that i can fix sms and calls?

Hey just did it if someone needs the format for Ecuador, just edit it like this:
// Ecuador [ec]
ec 593 00 0
+ + + + 2 #######
+ + + + 3 #######
+ + + + 4 #######
+ + + + 5 #######
+ + + + 6 #######
+ + + + 7 #######
+ + + + 8 #######
+ + + + 9 #######

Seg Fault
Hello,
I am trying to find the wood from the trees in this monster thread and failing, so Ill just have to add to it :-)
There are three things I would like to do.
1. Make numbers in contacts have spaces where they should
2. Make incoming calls for unknown numbers have spaces where they should
3. Make caller id work even if I have the country code infront of the number in contacts.
I have edited UIPhoneFormats.plist I changed the section for gr (I am in greece)
Rebooted it made no diferance.
I scp-ed AppSupport off the phone
I ran
./pntedit read AppSupport templates.txt
AppSupport PhoneNumber Template Editor - Build 3
Segmentation fault
(Which as it says seg faults)
I am using the ppc version on a G4
My phone is 1.1.2OOB with next sim and a greek provide sim
I was thinking may be I should edit the US section of UIPhoneFormats.plist but that makes no sense, my numbers are not in that format. All my numbers are just a long string of numbers no spaces or () at all.
BTW I iWorlded my phone to greece this was to prevent the keypad (and other things) crashing. maybe iWorld has already altered AppSupport.
TIA
Stuart.

Don't use pntedit. Install "PhoneNumber Dynamic Library" instead.
