Gee, that's a pitty, not for me because i mostly use belgian numbers.
If i save those numbers as a test in my addresbook it does match it correctly when i type them in, but as you said in a previous post i think the numbers get decomposed in another way ?
It also seems the 48 (2+7) isn't reported on wikipedia while it is on numberingplansdotcom so i shoudl ask dutch colleagues if it really still exists ???

Phone numbers are decomposed with the first template that is compatible and templates are tried from top to bottom. Do not let the VISUAL APPEARANCE of the phone numbers fool you because that is controlled seperately by the UIPhoneFormats.plist file.

Tim, well understood - and i know formatting is controlled by the uiphoneformats ...it's just that i've remarked it gets matched correctly with an entry in the phone list

eg when i create a contact named "number48-1234567" and i type in the number +31481234567 it appearantly looks-up the phonebook and under the number it displays correctly the name "number48-1234567"

and this even if it doesn't get decomposed correctly by the framework tool as i showed above

I just wandered how it gets that match with the phonebook..

anyway, i've found out that that the 048 may not be existing anymore... so happily the template could be working correctly for the netherlands :-)
I just started an inquiry but it could be numberingplans.com is faulty (i've found schipperskerk is now appearantly 046 by ggling)

BTW - thanksfor your help so far

    Hello Tim!
First of all, thank you for your work and i have to say that spent the last 4 hours reading this post from the beginning and i still haven't figured it out how to match my sms with my contact list. Haven't found a template to work with Romania. I put your Phone Number Dinamic Library Build 9 in place, tryied the mobile numbers and the landlines - works perfectly but when i get a SMS with the international code +4, doesn't match the sender from my contact list.
The numbers look something like this: 07## ### ### for mobile and 0### ### ### for landlines.
My phone number template for Romania looks like this:
    ro 40 00 0 #### ### ###
Tryied to decompose and it looks like this:
    # Framework AppSupport decompo*******Number +40721200377 ro
    0,"","","","40721200377"

local phone numbers are 6 digits, every mobile number has 10 digits and country code is +4
    Can you help me please?
    Thank you!

    Try the following templates.

    ro 40 00 0
    + + + + 21 #######
    + + + + 2## ######
    + + + + 31 #######
    + + + + 3## ######
    + + + + 72# ######
    + + + + 7# #######

Hey can anyone help me with Costa Rica template?
SMS and their country code are a real mess...we don't have city code, just country code, so when I recieve a SMS (they are sent with contact name correctly) instead of giving me the name of the contact (let's say the contact number is 8373862) it gives me +5068373862
now this doesn't happen in Phone application, it gives the calls normally and recvies them ok too, only problem is INCOMING SMS...
my country code is +506 and we have 7 digits in both cell phones and landlines (as u can see in the 8373862 example)
Thanks in advance to ANYONE who can help me with this! this is driving me NUTS! (and it doesn't count the other SMS problem with the time!)

    Hey Tim aka sifu/master...

Wanna ask a really (disturbing for me) question.

How can set my country, Malaysia, in Preference > International > Regional Format as the default. I would really like to see (012) 333-3333 or (03) 2222-3333 etc (as I have set in /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/PhoneFormats/UIPhoneFormats.plist ) to appear while dialing the keypad.

FYI, Malaysia was set as Regional Format in 1.1.2, i think after using iWorld. However, after upgrading to 1.1.3, i have... kinda... select different country from the list and now I can't get back to my preferred country format.

    Much appreciated....
