However, they don't work for me. I broke the tool because it is too soft to open the back metal cover. The back metal is very hard to open. You need to put some strength in order to pop it up. So those tools are useless for me.
What I used were the swiss army tool and phillips #00 screwdriver. It should do it.

One thing is that you need to take out the sim tray first. You might make some dent on the back cover. And be careful on the antenna cable (little white cable).
Because the guy already opened his iphone, so it looks easy. It will be tough on first try in order to pop up the back metal cover.

@Ari77: if you want, you could send me your iphone. I will try to fix it for you. You have to pay the shipping back and forth though. I know it is hard to trust people on internet.

hey guys i dont think u need any tools to buy u can do it with ease just u need not to hesitate while opening..and just a strength at a correct point it will be opened...metal cover comes out when u poke something in the gap on the right side, and raise it with a bit strength..it almost takes 5 mins to open a phone but be carefull there is a strip connected at the back of metal cover and motherboard..u should not apply much force or it will bebroken..

So how do we do this Test point A17 ?? We'll need full instructions on this, and i'd be more than happy to be the first guy to do it .. Im getting the 3g anyway ..

Since it is involved hardware, I think only malhaar tried it, and it works for him/her. Of course, it works for my phone.
I got corrupted bootloader because my phone restarted while flashing bootloader with bootneuter.
When you have the bootloader back with this method, flashing baseband is not a problem.
I believe you don't have downgrade to 1.0.2. It should be fine on 1.1.4.

You do not need to scrape around making 'testpoints'. You can fix this through software. Send your phone to someone to fix it. Once again: I strongly advise you do NOT try this. You are wasting your time.

But i just bought the tools for it? Ill have to try it now

Ill have the tools by wednesday or thursday, so ill go buy the rest and try it out and respond ..
