To fix the wifi, i used dev team's pwnage tool and neutered it and fakeblanked it. Also updated to the 4.6BL ( this is a 1.0.2 iphone). Then, I used the wifi fix tool that's on the dev team wiki and installed that (I know it's a pain since there is no "wifi" to transport the files over, but search around, there's a method using a package someone made specifically for this using iliberty/ilibertyx) and viola, wifi/bluetooth is fixed.
Bad IMEI still. just unblanked/neutered, restored to default firmware, still bad.
BTW: IF YOU DO FIX YOUR WIFI AND CAN CONNECT (but no IP from DHCP) do a RESET ALL SETTINGS on your iphone. It fixed it!
So, I have a, for all intents and purposes, working iphone (just bad locked down imei). Going to try ziphone to "change" my imei to the correct one.........
UPDATE: After doing the above and then running ziphone, I successfully changed my IMEI, my phone is now fully "unbricked" with matching IMEI !
So, here are the steps:
1) used dev team, pwn the phone, neutered and fakeblanked it (4.6BL).
2) used iLiberty and installed dev team wifi fix (found on their wiki). Rebooted, wifi & bluetooth worked! No IP, reset all settings on iphone in prefs., all fixed!
3) used dev team's bootneuter tool to unblank, unneuter and downgrade baseband back to 3.9
4) entered recovery mode, restored to Apple's 1.1.4 firmware
5) used ziphone, ran jailbreak/activate/unlock, everything working but bad IMEI still
6) used ziphone and in advanced tab selected "unlock" and selected "change iphone imei". Entered correct IMEI from back of phone.
7) success! imei correct, bluetooth working, wifi working. phone unlocked.
great, now i have 2 iphones! I guess it can be......my backup phone?
