I still cant flash the baseband, or it takes far too long to flash.
    Any advice?
    you mean beta 8?

so you have flash beta 8 and got error 1011 in the end? now you are back to 1.1.4? how do you know that the BL is fine what have you tried? bootneuter or else?

For all those who get error 1603 that is normal. Because beta 8 is for iPhone1.0 and the G3. Because both have a different baseband iTunes7.7 checks the baseband (look in the strings from itunes) So if there is no baseband and a corrupted bl it is normal you get a error.

I tried dfu it wont restore/update just error 1604/03
The only way I got it on the iPhone was Xcode but at the end update baseband error because BL is to old.
And then you have the iPhone with a apple logo and a spinning wheel.

you should give a try as I said in my previous post..I am quite sure it will flash beta 8 on you iphone too...but this does not mean it will resolve the error 1011.

    THE SYMPTOMS
    • iPhone appears to have no baseband.
    • iPhone shows "Repair needed" and the info button shows unknown IMEI and ICCID.
    • When you restore - even from DFU mode - the OS changes but the firmware never gets uploaded. Restores take ages and eventually timeout with an error, leaving you in Restore mode.
    • You can bash out of restore mode and boot normally using the tools available, but you still get "Repair needed", etc.
    • Settings / About shows WiFi greyed-out, all 0s for Bluetooth, and nothing for baseband info.
    • No signal (obviously)
    • No sound from keypad or ringtones.
    • When you try jailbreaking using ZiPhone or iPlus, it fails during the process. (If I recall, ZiPhone says "Hmm, what did you do...?" and then fails to unlock. It scrolls forever. With iPlus you get the red banner and text but it stalls and locks up.)
    • After you've tried ZiPhone/iPlus, your phone will not boot in normal mode. You get "AppleMRVL868x: Invalid calibration data in device tree" in the scrolling white-on-black text.
    • Eventually you might be left with "BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0" scrolling continuously.
    • From this point you can Restore in DFU mode but it still won't restore the baseband and will take ages to time out. You can get it to boot again but you're back at square 1.

    POSSIBLE SOLUTION?
Here's what I did. I really hope this helps some others too.

    1. Found iPhone firmware 2.0 beta8 build 5A345 and iTunes 7.7 prerelease version (which can flash firmware beta 8)
    2. Installed iTunes and restored 1.1.4 (got error 1011)
    3. Restored to 2.0 beta 8. Of course it was not activated BUT I got IMEI, ICCID, audio, bluetooth and Wi-Fi back!
    4. Pwned the iPhone.
    5. From restore mode, restored a custom 1.1.4 which successfully reflashed the bootloader and baseband unlocked the iPhone.

    Good luck!
    @IZZARD

I didn't get error 1011, I could restore to beta 8 but I don't know if my wifi came back, I'm in the activation screen of beta 8 I already tried to pwn with pwnage tool but it wont detect it. Izzard, did you have to use itunes 763 for win? or smthig else? Im using a mac , itunes 7.7, pwnage tool, what am I doing wrong?
I just need to pwn it but its not responding.

for those with error 160X, what I did to succesfully restore to beta 8,
    1.-Installed itunes 7.7 and restored to 1.1.4
2.- MANUALLY DFU to 2.0 beta 8. ( you can confirm this if your iphone screen is black but itunes will detect it )
    3.- restored 2.0 beta 8, got error 1600
4.- now I just tried to restore again but now it was in recovery mode, and voila it succesfully restored into beta 8. NO ERROR.

    GOOD LUCK!

it s not detected by pwnage because the fw is not supported I believe. you have first to downgrade again to 1.1.4 to unlock it.
Anywya I think that if you have not had an error 1011 at the end of the process you might have saved your phone...

check other threads about downgrading from betas fw...

yeah I never had error 1011 but my wifi is grayed out, I used 2.0 beta 5a240d then I downgraded to 1.1.1 , and my wifi was back, anyway when i wanted to activate/jailbreak it the wifi was gone again, so I want to keep it working I tried with an activated ipsw but it wont remain fixed it will show "no wifi" after I restore to the activated ipsw, jsn1 told me that his method also fix the wifi issue.

hey but izzard, said in his thread step # 4 "pwned he iphone" how is this possible? I know it doesnt support it, but when you have to browse the ipsw I chose 1.1.4, so what do I have to do to pwn it?
