Software problem? Iphone - device not compatible put on airplane mode msg
So, yesterday while I was at work, my girlfriend kept on messaging me (txt) while I was working washing dishes and I'm not sure, but maybe I may have gotten my phone wet and for some reason the message that device is not compatible etc put on airplane mode... keeps on popping up and it mutes the speaker. Right now my Iphone is not displaying it because it is plugged in into my computer, but I'm wondering if this is a hardware problem (maybe it got wet?) or it is software? I'm on 1.1.4 and I had it on that since basically it came out. Any ideas? I really don't have the patience to restore it so any fixes would be great.

do you remember getting it wet beacuse if you did then I think I have to move this to hardware not software

it barely got wet so i'm leaning towards software. everything works fine just that the stupid message pops up every now and then so more than likely it's software

I've had this a few times when I dock the phone and as yet I haven't work out why.
Do you just push No to airplane mode like me and every thing is ok again?

This is a tough call because if you got it wet and it started doing it after then its most likely hardware however if it was doing it before then it software

its hardware. u messed up ur dock port. If its not from the water, its probably a bad solder and ur iphone thinks you are connecting and unknown accessory. If it is the water, then u just got water in the port, u might be lucky and it will dry up and ull be fine or it will never go away unless u get it fixed(id say try to bring it back to apple). But either way, its hardware

No I haven't tried restoring it yet but everytime the MSG comes up I just press no and everything is fine. If it keeps persisting I will restore it and my bet is that it will fix it.also, I noticed that it is not coming up as much

yep definetly hardware. I just restored it, and I still get the message. Mods please move this to hardware issues.
Any ideas as to how I could fix it without having to replace anything? Maybe just taking it apart cleaning etc?
