Simple question about Geohot's software unlock
Ok, so I log on here tonight after about a week not checking the site and found out 1.1.2 OOTB was finally soft unlocked!!
I ran the program on my 1.1.2 but now I want to try out the Dev Team's 1.1.3 soft upgrade. Can I still go ahead and do this now even though I already ran the unlock on 1.1.2??
No flaming please, it's just a simple question. :p

And just a simple search could've anwered your question. Yes you can do the soft-upgrade as it won't change your baseband.

Well, yes and no. I've been searching for hours trying to find a difinitive answer on whether the Geo Unlock will provide for a fully functional 1.1.3 iphone. that is, will you be able to do the 'locate me' funtion in google maps?
Everything I've found so far says the baseband is always at 4.02 level and not 4.03. Baseband 4.03 is needed for the 'locate me' function.
There's been so much discussion when 1.1.3 jb came out about the missing baseband 4.03 functionality. I suspect this will start again for BL 4.6 iphones running 1.1.3 OS.

In the installer there is an app called locate me. Install this and run it once and then the google maps feature will locate your position.
