A simple Guide: how to avoid Youtube issues after jailbreak 1.1.1
very often you will get an "cannot connect to youtube" message after you have done the whole unlocking/jalbreak/activation process. this can be fixed, and there are a lot of guides showing you how to do this.
here is how to avoid that extra time and effort in fixing that afterwords:
the key is, after you have activated your phone, at the very first moment that you have access to the springboard and be able to start applications...
- DO NOT START YOUTUBE!!
- DO NOT CONTINUE TO JAILBREAK AND UNLOCK!!
- go into settings -> date and time -> and set up everything correctly including time zones and whatever you find there to set up.
- now go back to springboard and NOW start youtube.
it should now work and will remain working after unlock and jailbreak.
my guess is, that during connection to the youtube server there will be created those files found in activation_records and paring_records. if the time settings are not matching they gonna be messed up and need to be deleted. plus the other famous three files which need to be replaced.
i was so sick of fixing that everytime that i continued to proceed like described above for a lot of iPhone till then and can confirm that i never again had to fix the "cannot connect to youtube" message

well, if you use jailbreakme.com, it's no longer an issue.

you can try:
- set up time and date
- use the youtube-fix from installer under "unlocking tools" (http://i.unlock.no)
but i experienced that if it fails the first time it will fail with all following attemps. i had to manually ssh into the phone and do the following:
- open pair_records and delete all files in there
- create a new folder "activation_records", empty
- replace the "famous three files"
- reboot
good luck!

i'm not sure what carrier your on, but on Tmobile, users have a problem using the searching feature on youtube while on edge. do you think this will cure the problem?
