I'm confused. Is your iPhone already activated? If so, you can still use that guide, you can just skip to Step 3 (I think). Is your iPhone already activated and fully unlocked? If so, then you may need to restore it with iTunes, remember to hold SHIFT when restoring!!

    Hi,
yes, Its been activated with indipendence AND unlocked with AnySIM. As I said, it worked with a Vodafone SIM. Then I pulled it out and put it back in and now it doesnt work anymore.

Earlier in this thred it was said that u need to have your sim in the iP during the AnySIM unlock and have the PIN deactivated. I did not have any SIM in the phone during the unlock and when I put in my SIM the first time, I had to type in the PIN code (because I didnt know u have to deactivate the pin) and it still worked perfectly.

As said before.. I pulled the SIM out and put it back in and now it diesnt work anymore.

So Ill restore manually with 1.0.2 and then unlock with your method. Any experience if a former unlocked iP will be able to re-unlock with the other method AFTER a restore?

There are a certain number of times you can unlock the iPhone but a second time should be fine. I had the included AT&T SIM card in the iPhone during the whole unlocking processes. After the iPhone was fully unlocked, I powered off the iPhone, inserted my T-Mobile SIM and then powered it back on. Connected to T-Mobile's network with no issues.

    My iPhone AIM is iPhungy

IM me cause I'll be at a friend's place watching the UF vs LSU game (hoping he'll let me log onto his Wi-Fi)

As what i understood from all the forums, that its wrong to try to reunlock your unlocked phone, it will corrupt ur base band, unless if you do a complete virgin restore... just to let you know before killing your iphone, you can try to restore ur iphone to 1.02 again and jailbreak then activate, and make sure u remove ur sim lock in anothe phone, then try it on ur iphone...

OK, thats what I have not wanted to come up - the two different assumptions.
    Which one is right?

See i advice to do this before anything, because it cant harm your iphone, as u said u already ulocked the iphone and it was working then later it started to make some problems because of the sim card code so try this:

1- Restore your iphone using itunes 7.4.1, with 1.02 firmware using pressing shift method to be able to choose ur firmware file,

2- then use ibrickr/apptapp to jailbreak the activate the iphone using pacay, i recommend ibricker, i have some bad experience with apptapp although its easier, but i noticed some conflicts when i try to install third party application...

3- Dont try to unlock ur iphone again, just put ur sim card in any othe phone and remove the sim code, then put it back in your iphone, and everything i hope will be ok,

this actually just reinstalll a fresh iphone OS without touching the baseband that is already flashed and unlocked, i use it all the time, because i like to install alot of programs, so when i need it to come back clean, i use this method, i read allooooot of articles that says: DONT TRY TO UNLOCK YOUR IPHONE AGAIN BECAUSE IT WILL CURROPT UR BASBAND, and if you want to unlock again it you should do it by restore ur iphone to a virgin, then start over, but when doing that you will loose ur IME number...

    Hope i helped!
