With my mobil carrier (Movistar Chile), my SIM has a 4-digit PIN that I must enter before I can acquire service. With all my other phones, they've provided the prompt for this PIN, but I'm not getting such a prompt on my unlocked iPhone.

Does anyone know a way to enter the PIN or otherwise use my SIM with an iPhone?

I actually wouldn't mind changing providers and chucking the PIN-protected SIM, but number portability isn't exactly an option here.

If you go into Settings on the iphone and click on the phone tab in there is a spot for SIM pin and if you back out of that and click on the general tab you have a passlock pin as well
