I have a dumb question
If the firmware is the same for all iphones, where's the information that tells the iphone to use my AT&T card and not my Orange FR card?
Can't we extract the part of the firmware specific to the coutry and inject it in another iphone? I mean I have a US iphone and want tou use it in France but it's ok for me if it is locked on Orange, I have an orange car already

I think that the lock code is inside the baseband.

so the baseband is different for each carrier?
if so, is it possible ti distinguish which one is which? I mean I would put on the French baseband on mine
