Default Should I send my unlocked phone to Apple for repair?

    Hi,
The unlocking processed failed on my iPhone and is stuck at the Activation Page. I called Apple tech and asked me to hit the little i on the screen and read the IMEI to him. The IMEI was something like 0099 which was clearly not my IMEI number. However, I hit the power and home button and reset it and when I check the IMEI number, it now matches the IMEI on my phone.

My question is should I send the phone back to Apple for repair because

    1) my screen won't pass the Activation page no matter how long I hold the power and home button,

    2) they are now suspicious that my phone has been unlocked because the first IMEI number I gave them was wrong it was 0099 something.

    3) Would Apple be able to find out that my phone has been unlocked even though my IMEI matches what's on the phone?

It sounds to me a bit of a gamble. I'm sure if they look at it in depth they prob find some traces of the attempted jailbreak but they might not look at all and just replace it. It would be more suspicious if it was bricked.

Its not clear to me what your symptom is. Do you mean you get not pass the initial small apple symbol shown or the screen which asks for activation ?

a4ex, yeah my phone was bricked. But because the phone was resetted somehow, when i open ibrickr, it says "Free My Phone." So I wonder if maybe Apple won't know cuz it seems like my phone hasn't been bricked yet.

geejay101, I am stuck at the Activation page. When you move the slider over, you are allowed to make an emergency call. And when I connect to iTunes, iTunes says Invalid SIM and my SIM works on my old cell phone. So this iPhone is messed up. I am just wondering if it's safe to ship to Apple.
