I will try updating the itunes, do restore and use iBrickr again for pc or iNdependence for mac. If you have unlocked it before and you NEVER virgin restore your iphone after that, the unlock should work after you jailbreak it with ibrickr or indep.

i have done this and it would not work because itunes does not connect with my phone

so itune does not detect your iphone? I thought you mentioned in the first post you could restore through itunes?
Try connecting the iphone and open up itunes. Turn off your iphone and turn it back on. Once you saw the apple logo shows up, hold down HOME+SLEEP button until a yellow triangle shows up.
Please update your itunes first. 7.3 sounds old to me.

yes itunes will find the iphone in recovery mode, it will do the restore and says it has completed that process. However, afterwards when the iphone reboots, it says in itunes: "itunes could not complete your request. Could not find a secure connection. Make sure SSL 3.0 or TLS 1.0 is enabled." SSL 3.0 is enabled. Even ibrickr claims it has freed my phone but it will not go past the activation screen.

Try ONE of these 2 things:
1. Go to iBrickr, navigate through usr/libexec and copy a modified lockdwn file. the file can be found here http://iphone.unlock.no/ under step 2, "needed files for unlock"
If it doesnt work,

Check your host file on your PC. I had the same problem - one of the apps I played with put an entry in my host file that routes one of the Apple servers to my local host (127.0.0.1) I believe.
Find it at:
Windows 95/98/Me c:\windows\hosts
Windows NT/2000/XP Pro c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Windows XP Home c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
or try this http://geekswithblogs.net/thibbard/a...leInVista.aspx
for Vista.
One of the apps I played with ran a command similar to:
Add “127.0.0.1 albert.apple.com” to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
But did not undo it. So whenever iTunes tried that connection I got the same error you did.
Check it now!
If you have that line (I had two of the same thing), delete and save the host file. iTunes will then be able to connect to the server.
