Serious 1.1.1 issue with Installer
I was trying to unlock someones 1.1.1 8GB iphone the other day and it was active with ATT service. First I tried to restore it with FW 1.1.1 and then did Jailbreakme.com. It installed the installer, then installed BSD and rebooted. The phone got stuck at the apple logo with the circular line below it forever. I restored it again and same thing happend again. This happend 3 times and finally the fourth time, I didnt reboot after BSD, but this time installer dissappeard after installing BSD.
Anyone have a good suggestion how to fix the stuck boot or missing installer after BSD installation?
Also heard from him today that he was being a bone head and upgraded it to 1.1.2!
I take it he did it without Oktprep? How should I proceed with this?
Thanks for all the help.
I encountered the same on my friend's phone.
Restore to 1.1.2
restore to 1.1.1
jailbreak+act (jailbreakme.com). Install anySIM 1.2.1u. unlock. oktoprep. UPDATE to 1.1.2. Jailbreak again using the jailbreak1.1.2.zip (windows.bat).
the hardest part of this is the jailbreakme.com because if it does not work, it will throw you off.
If you don't want to deal with jailbreakme.com, restore all the way to 1.0.2 then apptapp and PACAY it.

well i had a similar problem i went up to 1.1.2
i started with otb 1.1.1 and accidently upgraded to 1.1.2
what i did to solve it was,
1. use restore in itunes 7.5 back to 1.1.2
Restore the iPhone to 1.1.2 firmware by putting the iPhone into DFU mode. Do this by pressing and holding the Home button, and the Sleep/Wake button.
Hold the buttons 10 seconds and the screen will go black. Let go of the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the Home button for another 10 seconds and iTunes will detect that the iPhone is in recovery mode. The iPhone will display that it is need to restore the phone,
2. Downgrade to 1.1.1 firmware. You need to put the iPhone into DFU mode again. Once in this mode, iTunes will display the recovery mode graphic. The iPhone will display the graphic again. this time i restored it from my pre downloaded file,
when it ends it will show error1015 this is normal i kicked it out with independence,
3. Jailbroke it with jailbreakme.com
4. in installer i downloaded BSD + anysim 1.2u and ran it.
5. in installer i downloaded oktoprep ran it,
6. restart phone and upgraded back to 1.1.2
fully working problem free.
hope this helps.

Reason: just needed to add info
Thank dtube and Beatx, I will give it try later tonight when I get home. Is Anysim 1.2u available on sources now? Or is there another source to get it from? havent seen it on my installer yet. And anyone got the initial 1.1.2 ipsw? I know apple is always updating their restore files like they did on 1.1.1
add rep.frenchiphone.com to your source.
I have it already but need installer before I can use it.
