im not shure on this one, but usualy SDK costs, for example if you whant to develope for Xbox or any console a SDK can be several thousends dls. maybe SDK for iphone will cost... also, jailbreak doesnt means just APPS it means total acces an permissions to any system file. i dont think apple will allow that with SDK.

jailbraked software can have unlimited acces to iphone power while oficial software may be limited, and scince you have to upload your code for apple aproval things get complicated.

    just my .02

Well with jailbreak you can access many parts of the os and baseband (and hence you can use AnySim to unlock), but with the release of the SDK I would think Apple will restrict access to standard set of functions to keep the platform safe.

Like lolec said, SDK availability doesn't guarantee economic possibility. If the SDK isn't free, then not everybody will be using it.

Personally, I'd probably take jailbreak over SDK if I could only have one or the other.

    SDk means "Software Development Kit"..

The SDK is a set of tools for programmers to develop applications for the iPhone (it will be provided free to Apple Developer Connection members)

The SDK isn't actually ON the iPhone, but the new firmware has to have some modifications to run applications written with the SDK.

The dev teams hopes that they can jailbreak this firmware in order to run applications written with the SDK without Apple having to "approve" these applications.

I donīt know much, but I was checking Natetrue blog and he said that "The iPhone 1.1.3 firmware is ready for official installable applications", so the dev team still need the next fw or wait the sdk for any further developments?

    Thanks

Just means that the f/w is ready. Doesn't mean that SDK has actually been released yet. Jailbreak is waiting on actual, public release of SDK.
