Default Is it safe to use the iTunes restore function on a unlocked iPhone?

    As the title states,

I have an unlocked iphone, used firmware 1.0.2, apptapp, ibrickr.
Have already installed several apps....if I ever wanted to take it back to default (original software only), could I simply use "restore" to bring the phone back?

Will it be unlocked after the restore?
Do I have to unlock all over again?
Do I have to specify the original 1.0.2 firmware file?

    THanks

Seems like your using a PC ... When you click restore make sure to hold the shift key down and select the 1.0.2 firmware which you hopefully have already downloaded and saved to a location like C:\iPhone\firmware\iMawesome\ or something like that.

Your phone won't go back to its original state, but it will as far as the operating system is concerned. It will remain unlocked with the 1.0.2 firmware.

Some files will also remain, or be copied back to the phone during the restore of your data from iTunes. I find files from previous applications I've installed and uninstalled every so often even after 2 restores. Applications though are all gone. Hope this helps.
