i had the same issue with the 307 method after updating.
restarting PC and being connected to it fixed the problem and appsnapp installed properly and the phone got activated.
try restart your phone as well

Whenever i get to the "Install Appsnap" point, my phone just returns to the "activate with itunes" screen, thats why i THEN tried the older methods that require downgrading to 1.0.2 ...

So thats my real problem the 307 method doesn't work as expected for me :-(
Could it be a problem with my 1.1.1 image ? May it be a version that is fixed by apple ?
If so, do you have a md5sum and or link to the *good* 1.1.1 image ?

    Thanks again,

    Ender
When you get to the instal appsnap part safari will crash to the activation screen, this is expected, just don't touch the phone, and wait, should take about 20-40 seconds, then the iPhone will reboot itself, afther that he will be jailbroken.

should it for any reason not reboot afther about a minute, restart your iPhone and go through the procedure again, it may take a couple of tries.

    Hope that solves your problem.

Not sure what more detail i can give, but here are the successful steps I took (2 1.1.2 phones all OK now):

    1. Install Oktoprep as described
    2. Upgrade to 1.1.2 via iTunes (DO NOT RESTORE!!!)
    3. Jailbreak using Touchfree, making sure you install SSH
    4. Restart phone (no springboard available at this stage)
    5. SSH into your phone, backup and replace the original lockdownd file with the elite team's lockdownd
    6. Set permissions on the lockdownd file to 0755 using WinSCP (or the mac equivalent)
    7. If your SIM is not already in, put it in, restart, and marvel at the springboard and signal
    8. Create an operator .plist file as described at the start of this thread, create symlink, swap sims and back again, restart

Please note: These steps only work flawlessly when you use a SIM which is from an official Apple supported country (eg UK, FR, DE, IT, US). If your sim is from another country, you need to also edit the appsupport file. I do not yet know what happens with international roaming when using a SIM from a supported country while visiting an unsupported one (anyone know???)

Thanks Cathul, your procedures work very well.

Initially I have had problem when running anySIM 1.2 on 1.1.1 (with upgraded fw 1.1.2). It killed off the wi-fi and the IMEI etc. Luckily after restoring to 1.1.2, everything is back. I decided to follow your procedures by going all the way back to 1.0.2 and run anySIM again. This time round it works.

In conclusion, anySIM 1.2 will ONLY WORKS on 1.0.2 with upgraded 1.1.2 bb.

I am now happy with my 1.1.2 iPhone with everything working. I am just looking forward to the 8-digit caller id patch.

    Thanks again!

I guess everyone in the two threads regarding upgrading to 1.1.2 uses this jailbreak method.

    Few tips:
    ======

    1) Yesterday when I did my "daily" upgrade attemp (at least one everyday since saturday ) I found a way to downgrade directly from 1.1.2 to 1.0.2, that saves at least one painful restore to 1.1.1.

You can enter DFU mode with 1.1.2 firmware:

Connect the phone to iTunes. Ignore any messages there. Just dismiss them.
Hold Home+Power for at least 10 seconds (your mileage may vary here). When the screen becomes black, release the power while holding home. Keep holding for more 10 secs (or so). iTunes will then ask to restore. The screen will remain black and the phone will be in DFU mode and you will be able to go directly to 1.0.2.

    that saves a lot!

    2) Also, getting out of restore mode (after the 1015 or 1013 errors that are normal when the baseband does not match and is not updated), the best way is to run iPHUC to get back to normal mode.

Connect to the phone. iPHUC will say it's in recovery mode. Run the following commands:

    cmd setenv auto-boot true
    cmd saveenv
    cmd fsboot

    3) For this whole process, be sure that iTunesHelper process (both win and mac) is not running. This can cause problems when you need to get out of restore mode , as it will start iTunes when you connect the phone. Whenever trying to get out of recovery mode, make sure both iTunes and iTunesHelper is not running.
