Bump, have the same problem, unlocked 1.0 iphone (3.12.06_g) no way of knowning the unlock method.
Can anyone confirm the "clean" 1.0.2 upgrade then revirginizing is working? No imei/wifi/bt corruption??

Bump from me too - still hoping to hear how anyone else got on doing this. I'm thinking I might just have to dive in and restore to 1.0.2 from 1.0.0 and hope that any damage AnySIM might cause can be fixed by revirginizing after the restore ... but would still love to hear from anyone who has successfully gone from 1.0.0 FW unlocked with AnySIM 1.0.x to a higher FW ...

Hi All, I'm in the same situation...
I've been reading lot of posts and what I'm thinking is:
-Download & run Virginizer.app (BigBoss) from Installer. I'm a little afraid because I can't find any info that this app will support FW 1.0.
http://360patches.com/virginize.html
-iTunes Upgrade to FW 1.1.1. I think it's the easyiest way to jailbreak / unlock (Anysim 1.1)
If these 2 steps work (1.1.1 fully working), I'll evaluate upgrading it to 1.1.3
Come on we need advise from EXPERTS
Regards,
macdo
iPhone - FV 1.0 until 2008Feb28 -> Virginize -> 1.1.3 FW iTunes Restore -> ZiPhone 2.4 & Fully Working.
- March08: Restored to 1.1.4 iPlus 2.0 and Sold it

- Now waiting...

Two days ago I finally took the plunge and I'm relieved to say I now have a fully-working 1.1.2 unlocked phone. It feels like a BIG upgrade from 1.0.0 to 1.1.2 - everything's faster and smoother, my Wifi seems to have improved, the tiny white dots my display showed against black have gone, and the additional home button functions are great.
As mentioned in my earlier post, I started off with FW 1.0.0, original baseband. Unlocked with the dreaded AnySIM 1.0.2. And I'm running iTunes 7.6 on Mac - someone else might be able to chip in with the PC options to replace the stuff I did in Independence if you need that.
Here's every step I took along the way:
1) Restored in iTunes to 1.0.2 - this gave me 0049 IMEI and no ICCID.
2) Used Independence to jailbreak, activate and install SSH and Installer.app
3) Used Installer.app to install Community Sources and Revirginizer script from iphone.unlock.no
4) Ran virginizer, worked without errors.
5) Restored in iTunes AGAIN to 1.0.2. Checked IMEI and ICCID restored. Now had a virgin 1.0.2 phone.
6) Ran pre-1.1.1 update function in Independence.
7) Updated to 1.1.1 in iTunes (using option-Update).
8) Used Independence to jailbreak, activate and install SSH and Installer.app
9) Used Installer.app to install Community Sources and then installed Oktoprep.
10) Ran Oktoprep, worked without errors.
11) Updated (NOT restored) to 1.1.2 in iTunes (using option-Update).
12) Used Independence to jailbreak, activate and install SSH and Installer.app
13) Used Installer.app to install BSD Subsystem and AnySIM 1.2.1u
14) Turned on Flight Mode and ran AnySIM 1.2.1u - worked without errors.
If you're outside the U.S. you'll want to install iWorld through installer and run the option for your country. iWorld is fairly generic in its settings so I found it didn't resolve my caller ID issues - but checking a local forum gave me a plist file specific to my country which finished the job. Very happy indeed.
So that's what got me to unlocked 1.1.2. There were a few hitches along the way - AppTapp installer wouldn't work on my Mac so after my first restore to 1.0.2 I had to install Installer.app using Independence. But once it was on the phone I couldn't get Independence to update itself to the latest version, so I spent hours searching the net for the .app file of the latest Installer.app so I could manually install it. Finally found it and after that the process of revirginizing, then updating to 1.1.1 and then 1.1.2 went very smoothly. Note that the only app I used was the latest Independence Beta - I didn't use AppSnapp or any other jailbreak method, even for 1.1.1.
I added one additional step at the end because I wanted a fresh install of 1.1.2 without BSD Subsystem hanging around, but this isn't necessary: I restored the phone to 1.1.2 in iTunes, which broke the jailbreak. So then I used Independence to put the phone in DFU mode, restored to 1.0.2 in iTunes and ran the 1.1.x prep option in Independence. Then Updated in iTunes back to 1.1.2, and once again used Independence to jailbreak and activate. None of this touches the baseband so the unlock you did at 1.1.2 using AnySIM 1.2.1u remains intact.
Hope this helps! I fretted about this for a while because no one seemed to know what was going to happen or whether or not you could revirginize 1.0.0. (incidentally I don't think you can - the revirginizer restores the baseband that came with the 1.0.2 FW so it makes sense that you should be on 1.0.2 before you try and do that).
I think it's worth keeping in perspective that you read lots of stories here about revirginizing going wrong or people ending up without basebands or Wifi - but what you forget is, the people for whom these things work flawlessly don't have problems and don't ask for help, so we don't hear from them. I'm sure there are lots of them out there who, like me, found that everything worked as promised and if they just followed the steps as recommended in the dozens of tutorials on this site, they got there in the end.
So if you're on 1.0.0 and you want to upgrade, I recommend just going for it. Take it slowly. And if you run into any hitches like I did (ie not being able to install and update Installer.app etc) solve those issues before continuing - don't skip any steps!
BIG thanks to the dev community for making stuff that works so damn well.

Hey iamostwanted, good luck - and don't forget, go from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 and Oktoprep before you upgrade to 1.1.2 - otherwise you won't be able to jailbreak 1.1.2 when you get there!
