Remember, if a software unlock becomes available, all you have to do is buy the iPhones again. No big deal.
It is not that easy when you live on the other side of the world. Besides, I'm definitely more optimistic then you are, as we've all seen what the dev Team and the others working on this are capable of. I think it is just a matter of time...of course the turbosim is an option, even if I'm not considering it now...let's just give the guys some credit (they sure deserve it) and see what happens ...this looks like something we have already seen with the past firmwares. This time is probably harder, but nothing is uncrackable. Of course if you bought them to resell and make some quick bucks, I see your point

Unfortunately not correct. You still won't be able to downgrade the 1.1.3 baseband without the secpack from a higher version. That means the waiting game begins anew for 1.1.3 buyers.

Apple seems to be on top of getting new FW phones into stores as soon as possible. That means the 1.1.2 supply will not be there precisely when you most need it.

If you bought phones within the past two weeks, I would strongly suggest that you hold onto them until just before New Year's when the holiday return policy expires.

You're assuming the baseband is updated as well...so really no one can be sure until they release the next update.

...And if the baseband isn't updated, there will be no new secpack. If there is no new secpack, neither OOB 1.1.2 nor OOB 1.1.3 will be able to be unlocked.

If the baseband is changed, then OOB 1.1.2 can then be unlocked using the 1.1.3 secpack. OOB 1.1.3 users (and anyone who makes the mistake of upgrading) will have to wait for the secpack from 1.1.4.

...that's assuming no other unlock method is discovered =)

The nice part being that if they want to do that, they have to update the baseband, and thus provide a secpack for 1.1.2

I'm optimistic on the dev team, they can do it!

Plus if I decided to return my iPhone it would cost me A LOT of money and time, which I do not have.

I'm in Canada, so I have to drive to the US which will cost me like $60 on gas (I have a gas guzzling car), then go there pay the 10% restocking fee $40. So I just lost $100, so I just saved $300 by returning it. Also I was lucky I didn't get charged Canadian tax and duties which saved me $70.

When the unlock does come, I'm going to have to drive back, repurchase, and will probably get charged the tax and duties. Overall the iPhone would've cost me a good $700.

I thought of returning it, but losing roughly $100-$200 is not appealing. So for now I will use it as an iPod Touch, and wait till the unlock comes.

If an unlock does NOT come (I'm pretty sure it will though), I always have turboSIM.

Guys, realize that this is an international forum, and that not everyone speaks perfect american, eh i mean english. No need make fun of someone because of that.

I do realize what he said was wrong... but you could have just pointed that out...rather than, well, write what youve written. Again, just makes you look like an ass.
