I've searched everywhere about what to do before I bring my unlocked first generation iPhone to Apple for repair. All I've come up with is forum posts suggesting a DFU mode restore of my phone. This is what I did, the problem is that the phone is still unlocked.

I know this because although the iPhone is now showing the activation screen, it is connected to the ATT network when I put my Swedish SIM card in it. If it was truly virginized it wouldnt be able to get a reception with this SIM card.


The phone is a 1.1.1 OTB so I assume it still has the 3.9 bootloader. During the last DFU mode restore it was updated to 2.0.2.

on the activation stage any simcard will work as only emergency calls can be made

if u activate ur iphone officially and putin ur sim it wont work

u might need to downgrade to 3.9 Bl using bootneuter
