restore mode error
help bigtime i fuck** up bigtime (this is a bootloader 3.9) btw
i upgraded to 1.1.3 so i could try the method of having the correct baseband to use the script used in the other thread
and then i put my iphone into DFU mode so i could restore to 1.1.1
i then got an error itunes blah blah could not restore this phone an unknown error occured (1)
so then i tried 1.02 and 1.1.1 again and it dindn't work at all same error
then i restored it to 1.1.3 which was a mistake...
no im stuck because i can't access the homescreen because i restored not upgraded...
I have no idea idea what do to and how to get around this error
Just put the phone in DFU mode.
Hold both buttons for *exactly* 10 minutes, release Top Button but keep holding Home Button, connect to iTunes and let it recognize the phone in Recovery Mode. If the phone shows "Cable + iTunes logo" re-do the steps again. The iPhone screen should be all black
Note: It may take a few tries...
Here is the real solution (other than the crap shoot of trying over and over again). It appears that there are 2 restore modes, the one where you see the itunes logo and connector, and another where the screen is black. Turn off your iphone by holding the power button. Once off, hold the power button and home button for exactly 10 seconds (THE SCREEN WILL BE BLACK), then release the power button and continue to hold the home button (THE SCREEN WILL STILL BE BLACK). iTunes will now recognize your phone and the restore will work successfully! Good luck!
