remove sms.db with shell script

if i erase the sms.db and just restart my phone.. will i be able to read the garbled sms that i used to get?

if u erase the sms.db, u cant read that particular sms anymore. wat i suggest is that after ur sms app hang, u make a copy of the sms.db 1st if u dun have a comp ard u at that moment, then erase the sms.db and restart ur phone. when u have a comp with u, use sqlite (windows) to delete that particular sms that cause the prob then u have all ur original smses back.

the thing is that my sms app does not hang, i just want to be able to read the web sms that i see with garbled letters.
i dont have a problem with application hanging, i just cant read the garbled letters.
