Hello,
First of, i apologize if this situation has been answered, but I have been searching the forums and everything I found was not specific to my particular situation.
I have a phone that was a virgin 1.1.1 when I bought it. I then activated it out of the box via iTunes with a 2 year contract (like every good new iPhone owner is supposed to do)![]()
Despite having an "authorized" account, I wanted to be able to use the sim from my old ATT phone until I could give out the new phone number. To accomplish this, I did the jailbreak (from www dot jailbreakme dot com). That went fine. I then installed SSH and AnySim 1.1 via the app_tap installer. I ran Anysim 1.1, which initially indicated it installed successfully, but did not work. I tried installing AnySim 1.1 again, but got an error before it completed. Since I didn't really NEED to use my old ATT sim, I just popped the orignal (and activated) iPhone sim back in the phone. All has worked fine for me since, but since I will not have the need to use any other sim in the phone again I would like to just update to 1.1.2 via iTunes and leave the phone without modifications.
Now that you have the background, my question is this: Can I simply install the 1.1.2 update (and any other future updates) from iTunes, or do I need to do a restore through iTunes first? Or am I just hosed and have to stick with what I have now?
Thank you in advance to anyone that can help me with this specific situation.
