Red Dot - No number

I know it may be due to att and no visual voicemail on my carrier, but when I get a new voicemail, only a red dot appears with no number, is this what everyone experiences on a non att iPhone? I get a number if I miss a call, or a 1+ if I miss a call and have voicemail, but if I only have voicemail it is only a red dot. No big deal, just curious if this is normal and if there was a fix?

THere is no way around. Visual voicemail is just AT&T feature.

Got iphone with 1.1.1 firmware
What I can do now ?
If there is any good advice to downgrade to 1.0.2. and than to unlock iphone with Liberator method or wait until ............ ?
Please advice me

downgraded phones cannot be unlocked. better to just put it away untill a solution is found

best bet? return, eat the 10% restock fee and buy a 1.0.2 phone on ebay or a store somewhere you can check the serial # buying.
