My situation: I unlocked my phone using anysim 1.02 then upgraded to 1.1.1 firmware and got the error 00499... and Incorrect sim. And for some odd reason I had trouble activating it when I downgrade to 1.0.2 firmware so what i did was kept the the 1.1.1 and deleted the baseband and restore the baseband to 3.0 version...and virginize the phone, then unlocked and activate it.

here is the step (assuming you activated 1.1.1 and jailbreak it)

What did I use to fix it

- APPTappInstaller.exe
- iBrickr_0.91
- BSD Subsystem (with iBrickr)
- UIctl (with iBrickr)
- Mobile Terminal VT100 (with iBrickr)
- ieraser
- bbupdater
- secpack
- ICE03.14.08_G.eep
- ICE03.14.08.fls


a.1) Install the following Apps: BSD Subsystem, UIctl (use winscp to upload to application folder), Mobile Terminal VT100
a.2) Be sure the Apps are installes. After that you should see the Terminal- and UIctl-Icon
a.3) Use winscp to move the files into your phone: following files in "/usr/bin/"
ieraser, bbupdater, secpack, eep-file and fls-file. After this is done restart your iphone.

b.) Tap the Terminal-App on the iPhone and input the following commands
cd /usr
cd /bin
chmod +x bbupdater
chmod +x ieraser
chmod +x secpack
chmod +x *.fls
chmod +x *.eep
b.1) Press home-Button and start Uctl (Do only the steps here descriped!!!!)
b.2) Tap on com.apple.CommCenter -> tap "unload -w"
b.3) Tap on com.apple.mobile.lockdown -> tap on "stop"
b.4) Press Home-button and start Terminal again
b.5) Type following commands
cd /usr
cd /bin
ieraser -> iphone does something, read the results
cd /usr
cd /bin
bbupdater -f *.fls -e *.eep -> firmware is flashed

2. use the reviriginizer step...I can't post the link but do a google search "revirginizing tool iphone". It's the other team
they have "Click here for an automated script that will give...." click on that and download and follow instruction. After this is done restart your phone and you should see the correct imei

3) Connect to itunes and restore you iphone to 1.1.1 and jailbreak and activate your iphone using CARNAVAL_by_brasuco (do a search) and I used anysim 1.1 to unlock it.

yes...I used anysim 1.1 in step 3
