Shit I think I screwed myself... I tried Anysim once more and this time the fields for the Modem firmware IMEI and ICCID dissapeared...also WIFI and bluetooth fields in settings got dissapeared. I tried restoring through DFU mode and iTunes gave an error saying it cant restore. Please help !!!

Hi CTCC

You just need wifi for your iphone. It will work even if your PC doesn't have wifi card. You only need an open wifi connection so as you can connect your iphone to that network in order to complete various installations.

Please correct me, if I am wrong

"Open" wifi connection? It can be closed wifi connection, it doesn't matter.
And you NEED WIFI for the IPHONE. FULL STOP. (Where have I heard that?)
WinSCP conects with the Iphone through a LAN connection. Of course the computer doesn't need wifi but that doesn't mean it doesn't have to be connected to the LAN!!
The computer must be connected to the network too (I don't care if Wifi,Cable or microwaves!!)
Why do people who don't get this one to hack their expensives iPhones and risking them in the attempt is something I can't undertand.

Check the spelling of the link....you never know.. I have seen that happen ..even to me. Other than that...no idea. Whenever I try it works.
What country are you in?I don't know if that could make a difference.
A firewall blocking itin the router?Maybe there is a cache in the network acting up...I really don't know.

The only final conclusion / suggestion is try it in a different network.
Or maybe some iphones are not affected by the TIFF exploit.... use iDemocracy then.

I have tryed AnySIM many times and had no problem. Well.. once that happened to me... no IMEI no ICCID.. I restarted the iphone and all was fine.
Are you using the latest AnySIM, right?

I thought the DFU mode should always work... unless a really bad thing happens...
Try the other recovery method then.... the one with the yellow triangle.

So you need an AT & T sim for using this, and vomer`s (since your is a rewrite out of his) do use these two guides? I was under the impression that you only needed the new SIM.

When there is a list step by step is common knowledge you have to do one after the other in a numerical order... 1, then 2,then 3,then,4 and so..that is the order. you just don't do the steps you want and then go asking because something doesn't work.

I did it in order...followed it word by word.
1. tiff exploit + touchfree (jailbreak)
2. anysim (unlock)
3. activation

still nothing. And now phone is stuck in dfu mode and iTunes restore gives 1011 error.
