[Question] what does "Accidentallly" really mean?
Hi everyone.
sorry for posting this as it is unrelated to unlocking but i thought i could post it here since only in this section people bring this issue so often
what does "Accidentally" really mean?
everyday there is someone with "HELPZ0R! I ACCIDENTALLY upgraded to [insert fw version here] WHAT I DO!!!"
i mean come on! how can a very lengthy and complicated process that requires a phone connected to the computer, itunes fired up, several button clicks inside itunes happen accidentally ? even if the user miss clicked and didn't know what that "loading bar" in itunes was doing to his phone he could hit cancel "i guess at the first stage of the upgrade"
i just don't get it
so if what i said is not true please tell me how do you accidently upgrade your phones? so i and all others avoid doing it....if it is not the way i mentioned above
thanks
EDIT: oh and by the way, something else crossed my mind that could be the meaning of this
it could be "I had a fully working phone but i wanted to see what will happen if i upgrade to next firmware. it got fucked up!. hell i better come with an excuse or i will be called a NOOB when i ask for helpzor! at hackint0sh!" is this it?

A generic story:
Jimmy is excited about his iPhone - he just got it off eBay for quite a hefty price of $900USD unlocked with a StealthSIM and can't wait to use it. He has played around with it a bit, and loves turning it side to side. He realises he doesn't have music on it and plugs it onto his computer.
iTunes opens up and the computer detects his computer. "Would you like to update to 1.1.3?" iTunes asks and he thinks "Why not? More features for me right? There could be no harm done right - I can just downgrade it later"
Oh no. Bad idea.
As the iPhone updates, there's no stopping now - disconnecting the iPhone will just damage it. After he realises what he is done, he is in trouble. He reads on iPhone forums and realises many have done what he is done. He can't do anything now.

thats a possibility i guess
but most people doing it seem to know their way around unlocking websites and seem to have a clue about how the phone is unlocked. which really keeps me wandering how they do it?

This to has crossed my mind on several occasions. I would go with this:
Jimmy is excited about his iPhone - he just got it off eBay for quite a hefty price of $900USD unlocked with a StealthSIM and can't wait to use it. He has played around with it a bit, and loves turning it side to side. He realises he doesn't have music on it and plugs it onto his computer.
