Will it brick the iPhone?

Hello!

A friend of mine has got an iPhone and asked me to unlock it, but his iPhone already had FW 1.1.1! So I have succesfully downgraded to FW 1.0.2 but the baseband is still the new one. So I've tried the method with the bbupdater, fls. and eep. files. But I always got the error message. In a other message board I read that someone had succes, he had the error but ran the anySim application and it worked. I've tried it but I got an error message from the anySim application. My question now is, can I make a restore with iTunes to FW 1.1.1 or will the Phone brick?
After the jailbreak of FW 1.1.1 is available the unlock is near and I want to know what should I do right now? Will the dev team offer a application that will downgrade the baseband?

There is currently, as of the writing of this reply, no way to unlock a 1.1.1 phone.

Thats the end of the story. Keep checking back every couple of weeks and their *might* be a solution.

it is reported that you can use turbosim or hypercard to use with the 1.1.1 downgrade to 1.0.2 phones, but they cost money.. search turbosim or hypercard for detail. Or just wait for free unlock

I know this. But in case there will be a free unlock next week, can I update the iPhone from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1, or, will it brick? AnySim said that it can't update the baseband or something.
